Payment & Guarantees

Know exactly what you pay,
to whom, and when

Hospital charges paid to the hospital from its official price list — we add nothing and take no commission. Our service fee — interpreting, translation, escort and scheduling — on its own line. Deposits only when a date or an implant must be held, with cancellation terms before you pay a cent.

Where the money goes

Six steps, every one of them in writing

No bundled "all-inclusive packages", no vague deposits, no payments to an account you cannot trace.

Written quote

You receive an itemised quote built on the hospital's published price list, with our service fee on its own line.

Hospital deposit (if applicable)

Only when a surgical slot or custom-ordered implant must be reserved. Paid to the hospital, receipt in your name.

Our service fee

For interpreting, translation, a coordinator on appointment days, scheduling and logistics — a fixed fee that is never a percentage of your hospital bill. Per the agreed schedule: typically a retainer at confirmation, the balance before your itinerary is finalised.

Pay the hospital on admission

An estimated deposit is settled at the cashier or by bank transfer, on the hospital's own account and receipt.

Settle the balance on discharge

The final bill is reconciled against actual treatment — you see the itemised breakdown before you pay it.

Documents for reimbursement

Official invoice, itemised English statement and clinical reports, collected before you leave China.

Payment methods

What works in a Chinese hospital

China is close to cashless, and foreign patients frequently arrive unprepared. Set the first two up before you fly.

Currency, exchange rates and receipts

All hospital prices are quoted in RMB (¥). Dollar and euro figures on our website are indicative conversions for orientation and will move with the exchange rate; the RMB figure on your written quote is the one that governs. Always pay on the hospital's official account or at its cashier, and keep every receipt — you will need them for reimbursement and for your insurer.

Know your quote

What is inside — and what is not

✓ Normally included

  • Hospital registration, consultations and specialist fees
  • Pre-operative tests and imaging required for the procedure
  • The procedure itself, anaesthesia and the operating theatre
  • Standard implants or devices (joint prostheses, stents, intraocular lenses, dental implants)
  • Standard hospital ward stay and routine medication during admission
  • Our coordination: records, second opinion, appointments, interpreter, translation and transfers

✗ Usually excluded unless stated

  • A stay longer than estimated, or additional procedures discovered during treatment
  • Upgraded or premium implants and devices above the standard range
  • Intensive care, unplanned readmission or management of complications
  • Private or international-department rooms, if you choose them
  • Flights, visas, insurance and personal spending
  • Medication taken after discharge, and follow-up care in your own country

Your written quote states exactly which of the above are inside your figure. If a hospital's estimate changes during treatment, you are told, the change is explained, and it is re-quoted in writing before it is made.

If something goes wrong

Complications, insurance and safety

🏥

Clinically

Complications are managed by the hospital and treating team, inside a large Grade IIIA institution with intensive care and every specialty on site. Your coordinator helps with interpretation, communication with your family, insurance paperwork and extending your visa or accommodation if discharge is delayed.

🛡️

Financially

Buy travel insurance that covers medical treatment abroad, complications, evacuation and trip interruption before you fly. Most international health insurers do not direct-bill Chinese public hospitals, so plan to pay locally and claim afterwards — we supply the invoice and itemised statement your insurer needs.

📑

Documented

Before discharge you receive a translated discharge summary, the operative record, your imaging on disc, a written medication and rehabilitation plan, and a fit-to-fly assessment from your surgeon — the document airlines ask for.

Documents we collect for your insurer or employer

  • The hospital's official invoice (fapiao) in your name
  • An itemised English statement of every charge
  • Translated medical reports and the operative record
  • A discharge summary stating diagnosis, treatment and follow-up plan

Send us your insurer's claim form during your stay and we will ask the hospital to complete it while you are still on site — far easier than chasing signatures from another continent.

Four things we will not do with your money

We do not ask you to pay a hospital bill into a personal account. We do not bundle hospital charges and our fee into a single untraceable payment. We do not take a deposit before you have a written quote in front of you. And we take no commission, rebate or referral fee from any hospital — our only income is the service fee on your quote, so we earn nothing more when your treatment costs more. If anyone offering to arrange your care in China does any of those things, stop and check.
