How our coordination service works, what we are responsible for, and what the hospital is responsible for — in plain, itemised language.
Plain-language summary: we coordinate your care, we do not provide it. Nothing here is medical advice. Hospital fees are paid to the hospital at official prices; our service fee is a separate, fixed amount agreed with you in writing beforehand, and it is never calculated as a percentage of your medical costs. Clinical decisions and their outcomes belong to the hospital and treating physician.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website www.primamedchina.com (the "Site") and any coordination service we provide to you (the "Service"). Prima Med China is a medical coordination business registered and operating in Beijing, China ("Prima Med China", "we", "us"). Our registered entity name, registered address and registration number are provided on request and appear in every written quotation and service agreement.
By using the Site or engaging the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or the Service. If you are arranging care for another person, you confirm that you are authorised to act for them.
We are not a hospital, clinic, medical practice, insurer or emergency service, and we do not provide medical treatment of any kind. We do not diagnose conditions, prescribe medication, interpret test results clinically, or perform procedures. No doctor–patient relationship arises between you and us.
All clinical decisions — including whether to treat, which treatment to choose, when to discharge you and when you are fit to fly — are made solely by the hospital and the treating physicians. Your care is governed by the terms, consent documents and internal procedures of the hospital concerned.
Prices shown on the Site are indicative ranges for reference only, based on published price lists at Beijing Grade IIIA hospitals at the time of publication, and are not an offer. A binding price is only created by a written quotation issued to you for your specific case, which states:
Medical costs can change if the clinical picture changes. We will notify you and obtain your agreement in writing before any material change is made, and you may decline the change.
Bookings become effective when you confirm the written quotation and, where a surgical slot or custom-ordered device must be reserved, pay any deposit the hospital requires. Deposits are payable to the hospital and are subject to the hospital's own cancellation and refund rules, which we disclose in advance. Our service fee is payable as set out in the quotation — typically a retainer at confirmation and the balance before your arrival itinerary is finalised. Payment methods, refund rules and cancellation windows are explained on our Payment & Guarantees page, which forms part of these Terms.
You may cancel or postpone at any time by written notice to contact@primamedchina.com.
| When you cancel | Our service fee | Hospital deposit |
|---|---|---|
| Before we issue an invitation letter or book appointments | Refunded in full | Not yet applicable |
| After appointments or an invitation letter have been issued | Refunded less the work already performed, agreed with you in writing | Per hospital rules |
| Within 7 days of the scheduled procedure or admission | Non-refundable | Usually non-refundable — hospital rules apply |
| Postponement to a new date | No additional service fee; one re-booking free of charge | May be transferable at the hospital's discretion |
If the hospital cancels or materially changes a planned procedure for clinical reasons, we re-book or refund our service fee for that procedure in full.
To coordinate safely, we rely on you to:
Incomplete or inaccurate information may lead to a changed treatment plan, additional cost, or cancellation by the hospital for safety reasons.
All medical treatment carries risk, including the risk of complications, incomplete improvement, unforeseen findings and, in rare cases, death. We do not promise any clinical outcome and nothing on the Site or in our communications should be read as a guarantee of results, safety or recovery time.
Before any procedure you will be asked to give informed consent to the hospital and the treating physician. Please make sure you understand the proposed treatment, its alternatives and its risks before you consent; we will arrange interpretation so that you can ask questions and receive precise answers.
To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of the People's Republic of China, our liability to you arising out of the Service is limited to the amount of the service fee actually paid to us for the service in question. We are not liable for:
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We do not sell insurance and we are not your insurer. We recommend that you hold travel and medical insurance that covers treatment abroad, complications, medical evacuation and trip interruption. Where you intend to claim reimbursement, we will provide the hospital invoice, an itemised English statement and the relevant clinical documents; the decision to pay a claim rests entirely with your insurer.
We handle your information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms and describes what we collect, why, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and how you can have it deleted.
Text, translations, photographs, layout and code on the Site belong to us or our licensors and may not be copied or republished commercially without written permission. Hospital names, specialties and price information are published for reference; we do not claim to speak for those institutions, and their own published terms and prices prevail. See our Medical Disclaimer for the limits of the information published here.
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our service or in the law. The version in force is the one published on the Site, with the "last updated" date shown at the top of this page. Changes apply to services engaged after the update; the version provided with your written quotation governs your engagement.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. We will always try to resolve a dispute by discussion first: write to contact@primamedchina.com and we will respond within 14 days. If a dispute cannot be resolved amicably, it shall be submitted to the competent court in Beijing, China.
